Greetings one and all.
I'm an "old fart", by that, I mean that,... okay, I'm 58. I have been around for a while.
I began using computers before most people even dreamed of the internet as it is today.
My father worked for the Government as an systems analyst and programmer.
My first "portable" computer was a Kaypro 10. It had an on-board modem and I could "log-in" on a payphone. The durned thing was the size and weight of an older metal, home computer CPU.(7"X18"X24"- roughly) But it WAS portable. Not much fun to carry around and forget about using it while moving. No Graphical User Interface (GUI for those less savvy)... It was command line only. Graphics was achieved via text and printed out one line at a time. It used the old "floppy" 5&1/4" disks. No hard drive. DOS and Unix were the Operating systems of choice(out of necessity) for me.
I'll be around here mostly just reading pertinent data.
