Win 7 wipeout please help

Hi so my huaband and I are fairly new to computer stuff. We are running win 7 home. We keep getting a popup saying we dont have the right key. How can we fix this?

if win7 came with the computer there should be a sticker on the computer somewhere with the product code on it, if you installed it your self there will be a code on the case some where

Did you recently purchase this computer, and if so, did you get it from an established source such as a retail store, etc?

If Win7 came with the PC it is an OEM license (system builder or volume license). If volume license the PC maker should have an explanation for this.  Either OEM version however is required by MS to have a Certificate of Authority (COA) on the outside of the case, or just inside the case or inside the battery compartment on a laptop.  These COA's came with the disk in a system builder or with a disk or the volume purchased.  The COAs have a unique product key printed on them.  Just to confuse you the volume license product key is identical on all installations under that license, but the COA that is to be affixed to all installations is unique and not the same as the vendor product key.  It is intended for a repair installation of the motherboard under the EULA (MS' user agreement). But it can be used.




The other type of licenses came with a Win7 Retail or Update disk.  These product keys are affixed to the box the disk came in and can be reused on any computer (only one PC at a time however).  Lose the box, lose the license though the product key can be recovered using Belarc Advisor, Magic jelly Beans or some other recovery app.  Works also on a system builder OEM key.  Doesn't work on an a volume license OEM key unless it has been changed to the one on the outside of the case.  The OEM OS is supposed to remain with the the system it was installed upon.

1.  Please download MiniToolBox  , save it to your desktop and run it.
Checkmark the following checkboxes:
  List last 10 Event Viewer log
  List Installed Programs
  List Users, Partitions and Memory size.
Click Go and paste the content into your next post.
2.  Please download and install Speccy to provide us with information about your computer.  Clicking on this link will automatically initiate the download.  
When Speccy opens you will see a screen similar to the one below.
Click on File which is outlined in red in the screen above, and then click on Publish Snapshot.
The following screen will appear, click on Yes.
The following screen will appear, click on Copy to Clipboard.
In your next post right click inside the Reply to Topic box, then click on Paste.  This will load a link to the Speccy log.
