I have installed it.I have taken these steps.

1. Made sure both were clipped in.
2. Booted it up it said channel A was missing in the BIOS
3. Swapped both the rams
4. Booted it up it said channel A was still missing in the BIOS even with the old ram.
5.Ran memory diagnostic tool, no issue

It's stuck in single channel and I assume both rams work since they have both been in channel B and have both been recognized.

Is this an issue with the maximum ram?

just use a can of compressed air to clean the board out, what os are you running? (to determine if it is a issue with too much ram [which it likely isn't])

Windows 10 x64

Both sticks worked individually.

Seems to be stuck in single channel and reads only channel B

how much memory are the two sticks? it appears the pc can hold 8gb so less than that it is fine and as far as I know windows 10 x64 has no ram limit so it boils down to either a dead socket (where the ram goes into) or that darn dead spider

is it 2 4gb sticks 2x4 or 2 8gb sticks 2x8?

the hp link shows it only holding 8gb so if it is 2 8gb sticks that could also be the issue

It came with one 8 gb stick in slot b, and an empty slot. So you're saying it's basically meant for 2 4gbs?

Is there really a cap?, the manual says nothing about the limit.
