Hey, does anyone know what the absolute fastest and best socket 754 processor is (for when I feel like an upgrade) for the ecs nForce3-a v1.0a. I think its the athlon 3700, but I'm not sure. Also, I might not want to upgrade yet If I can overclock. My overclocking attempts so far havent been to successful and I was wondering If lowering my ram speed would allow it to overclock better.(got cheap ram) I also know you can do a bios swap with the biostar nforce mobo for better overclocking, but I'm not sure which bios is the most compatible. I've already trashed my bios once and i don't want to do it again. Anyone know which one? Or if you think I shouldn't swap bios, what windows program do you suggest that allows me to go over the ecs bios overclocking max(250). Thanks.

According to ECS's CPU support details for the nForce3-a v1.0a it goes as high as an AMD Athlon 64 3700+ (Rev.CG)

Yes, using a memory divider would probably help your overclocking if you have cheap RAM.
