What make and model scanner?  What file type is the scanner creating?  Have you installed the scanner's software on this system?

Make regular full system backups or you'll be sorry sooner or later.

It's not the  scanner.  These are files that where created with Window 7 and where fine.  Now that we have windows 10 they will not open, we just keep getting the error message. Files are PDF.

Everything was fine until the Edge stopped working, now the scanner PDF files won't open.  They were working in 10, but not any more.

So, you can't open PDF files - is this correct?
And, I presume that you want to open them with Edge - is this correct?

If so, here's a couple of suggestions to help reset Edge:

https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/fdda0835-0050-4fc3-a823-692b8c4a3f4d/microsoft-edge-reset-the-default-settings?forum=win10itprogeneral

http://www.thewindowsclub.com/reset-microsoft-edge-browser-to-default-settings-in-windows-10

Also, you can download a free PDF reader program from the web, install it, and see if that works for you.
I've used Adobe Reader and Foxit PDF, but there are others available that I haven't used.

My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
