I cannot get it to download messages, I have tried many 'cures' suggested on the internet, to no avail.

It says it is receiving, and then times out.

Two other email programs I have tried work fine, I just don't like the way they are set-up.

I would like my live mail back.

What is the complete error message? If there is one, and it contains your email address, xxx it out.

  • Not actual error messages, my email shows only partially, and cannot be deleted.

It sounds like your setup might not be quite right.  I've been using WLM since Windows 7 came out, and it works just fine for me.  You haven't said who your ISP was, so maybe there's something unique with them.  I know WLM works just fine with AT&T and Comcast.

 Good luck.

I also have been using it successfully for that long. I have Frontier, and it has been great for 2+ years.

But lately no good. I have worked with them numerous times, and they can't find a solution.

Other people are having trouble with it also. There are solutions on the internet that I have tried, and do not help.

I haven't had any problems with WLM in the last 2-3 years, but when I did in the past, I exported my contacts and inbox, uninstalled WLM, downloaded again from Microsoft, reinstalled, then imported my email & contacts.  That's a pain I know, but it's always worked for me.

 Good luck.

Thanks for the tip, I will try that the next time I have trouble.

It started working properly again, a couple of days ago, so we will see what happens.

It sounds like maybe the problem was with your ISP.  Sometimes these folks don't admit when they have problems or give such obscure answers, you don't know what the #$%^ they're saying.  Anyway I'm glad the problem went away, let's hope it stays gone.

 Good luck.
