I know the WMV file format has been around for many years, but I'm trying several different
formats with a collection of old AVI videos.

I have a couple of freeware video converters, but they cannot do the job. Freemake Converter
may be the most popular (93 million downloads) but some of the user reviews are very negative.
Loaded with junkware and many antivirus scanners find trojans and other infections.

I need to convert AVI to WMV and resize the video. Changing the resolution or size is important
because these old AVI clips look sharper when they're reduced in size.

I'm definitely not a video expert, so a simple app would be best for me.

Thanks guys.

Try Video to Video.  It's free.  There's a Help tab on the site where you can read up on how to use the software.  Download the portable version.  If you want to get rid of the program later, just delete the program's main folder.  No need to uninstall.

Looks really good Agouti. Thank you!

Several months ago I installed Oxelon Media Converter. It's a nice app, but converting a video
to the WMV format is not easy with Oxelon.

I posted about this at a video help forum where many of the members have expert level skills,
but no one recommended Video to Video Converter. It looks like the perfect app for a user
with minimal video skills, like me.

I'll highly recommend apowersoft video converter studio. Paid software actually but with features you need. Its online version also works great. Lol.

Offline version is the best one and Any video convertor has both feature offline and online so my recommendation is Any video convertor not anyone else. Whatever?????
