Hey Guys

I have an HP Touchsmart 420

Whenever I try to turn it on, it stuck on blue screen showing hp logo and a message "Press the ESC key for Startup Menu" and of course the keyboard ( all keys are inactive)

I think the issue  started when I put someone's flash drive. but I took it off

-I tried taking the hard drive and putting it back  ( and even I put new one)

-the ram also I took it and put it back

- the f9 and f1o not working

What am I supposed to do pleaseee?

How can I make computer forget that external flash drive ( I do not have it now)

Thank you

Have you tried attaching a wired keyboard to a USB port? Specs say you have a wireless keyboard and mouse.Try using one of the USB 2 Ports in the back of the computer.

If you have tried all ports and still cannot access BIOS then I would have to think your are dealing with a hardware issue that would require you to take it to a good repair shop.

Other than trying another keyboard I am not sure what else you can do other than booting a live CD such as a small linux distro to see if it can bypass the Esc screen. I would recommend Fatdog64.
