Hi there!

I have the prvtect.exe file in Windows....am trying to get rid of this file but haven't been successful. I've tried to delete it and it says access denied. I try to remove it from the MSCONFIG file and it automatically re-enables itself. I even ran HijackThis and told it to fix the problem....it magically re-appears.
How do I get rid of this stupid file??????????? HELP!!!

Thanx!

sorry to do this, but answering my own post. I managed to remove via System Restore. Also am setting a new restore point so if it tries to return I can remove it again this way.

Thanx!

 Boot up in DOS from a floppy, then go c: then cd\windows\system, finally del prvtect.exe . When you run msconfig, hit startup tab, then cleanup. The program entry prvtect will be gone.
