Okay to fold this into an existing thread I couldn't find.

I need a fix for the write protection problem with Win7. My files are all "Read Only" so I have keep saving them under new names to keep my work. Nothing I found in Google gave me any help.

What "write protection problem with Win 7" are you referring to, please?  A link describing such would be useful.

Are these MS Office files of which you speak?

They're files and folders, Word docs, pdfs, images, CSS folders, etc.

I tried attrib -h -r -s /s /d C:\Users\Larry\Desktop\NHC\*.* to remove the "Read-only", didn't work. Tried unchecking the box in "Properties", didn't work. I've tried various other voodoo, didn't work. I have to save my work under a new name, remove the old files (they delete okay) and rename the new files to the old name.
