Got a system tray notification from Secunia PSI telling me I needed to manually update a program. The program needing updating is the above "Macrovision Update Service ActiveX Control 1.x". However, Secunia also reported that this program has reached its 'end of life' and there are no further updates.

I went into Programs and Features to uninstall this program ( to minimize any vulnerability associated ) and could not locate this program. I then tried locating it through a great utility called "Everything" and still could not find it.

I did an online search and found that there were similar problems reported  back in 2014 & 2015. I don't know if this is co-incidental or not but users at that time reported this happening soon after Windows Updates. Curious since we just has "Patch Tuesday".

Has anyone else experienced a problem ?

Any advice appreciated as to where I can find this program to delete it.
