Hi, all.

I would like to buy this  LOGITECH G502 Proteus Spectrum Optical gaming mouse but I am not certain whether or not it will work on XP. It says it is able to work on Windows 7, 8, and 10 but does that it won't work on XP necessarily?

I tried looking online for gaming mice for XP but the results were either for American sites, despite my IP address being not in America, as most of them are, and for eBay and Amazon. I don't want a second-hand mouse; I want a new one which I know will work...and hopefully on XP! There was also one result for AliExpress and I don't think I can trust that since I don't know much about it. Then other results are for other sites, some I haven't heard of before, or other companies I have heard of but again don't say whether or not the mouse would work on XP.

Could a knowledgeable person reply and let me know if this mouse I wish to buy would work on XP or not?

Thanks.

If it doesn't say XP then it doesn't support it. Software and drivers.

Well, that's disappointing. Thanks for replying.

Apparently, Logitech is the only brand of gaming mouse which exists. I thought others would exist and the internets would have told me about them but that looks like the only one that is not second-hand which comes up in a search. I don't want to buy any from Amazon or eBay.

I could stick with a standard mouse, I suppose. I keep buying what I consider cheap mice, and a shop I bought them from has disappeared now but the LMB always stopped clicking/selecting properly after a few months, so I thought that if I bought a more expensive mouse it would be higher quality, last longer, and be cheaper in the long run...and I realised gaming mice exist which would be nice for gaming, of course.

My current cheap mouse is deciding to not work properly now, so I need a proper one. Does anyone know of any type of gaming mouse which would work on XP and where I might be able to buy one from? I don't mind importing from any reputable retailer abroad.

Please and thanks.

Logitech does make other models of gaming mice that are XP compatible. Search for the G500, G400s, G300, G700, for starters.

Have a look at the Logitech site & check listed for XP compatible drivers in support. http://support.logitech.com/en_sg/category/mice-and-pointers

Also there are other manufacturers producing Win XP gaming mice.

Search for Razer, Redragon, Azio, Sharkoon FireGlider, brands to name just a few. Unable to say if any are available in your location.

Don't think NewEgg ships to the U.K.

Zowie mice are compatible with every computer that has a USB port. And they make some of the most popular mice for professional csgo.

If you dont mind me asking, why do you still use XP?

I hope you find that link useful. A gaming mouse will probably require you to use special software.

For what it's worth, I bought a new Microsoft Wireless Mouse 3500 in January; the system requirements said Windows 7, 8 or 10, but it works flawlessly on XP, Plug and Play without any extra software.

Sorry I didn't reply sooner.

I use it offline so I can play some games because an "upgraded" "operating" system is not upgraded because it can't play some games.

So which is it? I don't want to waste money. I suspected it might still work because they don't expect people to be using older things, though, but I thought it would still work.

Thanks.

P.S. The quoting software on this forum is retarded.

Ac1MuEm.png

Previewing shows me the quotes properly but in the text field it's all messed up, and when trying to do it properly it messes up further. This site is not secretly on a Microsoft server, coded by Microsoft idiots, is it?! clicking the quote button then copying and pasting the quote into another text field show have that quite as it is, not show it with incorrect text - and not being able to change that incorrect text is equally as stupid.

Actually, they don't ship to the UK.
