I can't help it, I love to tinker with my computers that sometimes gets me in all sorts of trouble. I have an old Gateway Desktop E-6610 that is running Windows 10. I mostly use it for movies and videos as I have a Auzentech sound board, Logitech surround sound speakers and a 24 inch flat screen monitor. I am currently using an Acer 5253 that is also running Windows 10. I may not know much but I know a little to get into trouble. Looking forward to being educated by members.

Welcome to Bleeping Computer Forums!

I too often get myself in trouble when I try to make hardware repairs on systems. My family hides my tools constantly out of fear of another ruined system!  I tend to end up with "spare parts" after reassembly! Needless to say, I have given up on the hardware end of systems.

john:  I'm the opposite to you, being a hardware specialist, it's the software that gets me in trouble.  Tools, I learned long ago to always buy two of each, someone always "barrows" one and doesn't return it.  Don't fix what isn't broke,  any attempt to make it better or faster, the opposite is always the result.

Just wanted to say, after a few weeks of being a member, I have applied some of what I read for fixes in Windows 10, and both my lap top and desk top are running very smoothly, after moths of BSOD, losing start up menu and a lot of other little gremlins. I have been a member of another tech web site but was never as well informed as I am from here. This is a great place with skilled people ready to share their knowledge and expertise. Thank everyone and know you are blessed with an incredibly valuable source of information.
