Windows 10 x64

I upgraded my SmartFTP application which I have done many times. When I tried to run the application, I immediately had the error message: The application was unable to start 0x0000022.

I uninstalled (RevoPro) and reinstalled: same thing.

I contacted Support who told me to reinstall my OS!

I checked to see if this applied to all my applications. I found one application that had the same error: Corel Draw x8. I tried others which ran OK.

I ran sfc /scannow without any integrity violations.

I temporarily turned off AVG and tried to run the application - same error.

Immediately prior to this, I had to repair my Visual Studio 2015 Community Edition - I have no idea if this was related.

I read this may be a permissions problem but I have no idea where else to look.

This is my second post here - no one replied to that post.

If I have erred in some way, would someone kindly show me how to get some help please?

Kind regards

Thank you Wolverine 7. I will try this.

I just would like to know how to uncover the problem - this does not detract from your kindness in responding.

Thank you.

Hi,1fO3ch,

I think 0x0000022.error will be a permissions issue, which could be from a few places,we can troubleshoot it if necessery but if system restore works it,ll save some time.Let us know how it goes.
