My SIL is getting a new desktop with Win 10. She has Office 2010 Home and Student installed on her very old rig running Win 7. She adamantly wants to stay with Office 2010. I have read mixed reports re Office 2010 on Win 10. Many say it works great and others say it is unstable/unreliable. MS does admit problems and say they are working to get them corrected and offer temporary work arounds.

What is your experience? I wonder how many issues are a result of upgrading to Win 10 vs installing Office 2010 on a desktop already loaded with Win 10. Thanks.

PS. Her new desktop has Win10 Home 64. Will the 64 version be better/worse/same re compatibility with Office 2010?

My experience is that Office 2010 works perfectly with Windows 10. I never had an issue. I have the Office 2010 Professional Edition that contains Outlook and everything works just like it did in Windows 7, except maybe a little better and faster.

Office 2010 works just fine on two desktops I have running Windows 10 Pro X64.

Make regular full system backups or you'll be sorry sooner or later.
