Hi,

I have been having an issue for the past few weeks where I cannot access google.com and any other google site that start with google.com/....

I can access gmail, and google calendar but it won't let me use my google account to log into other services.

I have tried quite a few things including anti-virus scans (Spybot, Windows Defender), doing dns flushes and ip resets but nothing has been successful so far.

Also ran a tdsskiller and removed a couple of entries.

One thing I've come across is the when I've tried to tracert google.com from cmd in admin mode, it comes out with:

1 2ms  2 ms  1 ms  dsldevice.lan [10.1.1.1]

2  *       *         *        Request timed out.

3  *       *         *        Request timed out.

4  *       *         *        Request timed out.

.

.

.

I am running Covenant Eyes on the computer.

I'm hoping someone can help me out as this is driving me nuts.

Press the Windows Button and R simultaneously.

Typ in cmd

A new window will open, here you can use the Ping command. (ping [IP-Address or Hostname])

Do you get the same problem if you change your DNS servers to OpenDNS? Write down your current DNS servers, if any, should you need to revert.

Edit: Check your HOSTS file to make sure Google is not blocked. Temporarily disable your Firewall and see if you can connect.

Have tried changing the dns, and also checked the host files, neither made a difference.

another thing I've identified is I get 'Access is denied.' when I try and do a winsock reset, even while being under administrator mode.

Just some thoughts...

If you use(d) Spybot make sure the Internet Protection and Immunizes System features are not the source of your problem!
Also, can you disable Covenant Eyes and see if this has any influence?

Also ran a tdsskiller and removed a couple of entries.

That is really dangerous unless you are sure what you're doing!

Greets!
