Hello and thanks,

After a horrible experience I just had with a local pc shop, who fixed my laptop but found out they replaced my 500gb hd with a 100gb hd I would like to know if I can replace it with anoher 500gb myself? Windows 10 btw.

Thanks

Right clicked on local drive? This PC > Devices and drives > right click Local Disc (C:) shows x free of 110gb

Open Disk Management and see if you have any unallocated space on the drive. The size of the disk will be under Disk 0 if you have only one drive. I believe this is a Gateway laptop correct?

Right clicked on local drive? This PC > Devices and drives > right click Local Disc (C:) shows x free of 110gb

That will only show the size of the C: partition.  The way to check the size of the hard drive is in Disk Management as John said.
