Good evening, folks!
I have this REALLY nasty virus on my laptop (an ASUS X555UB laptop model running Windows 10, to be exact). It is located in my Program Files folder of my operating system: the folder is shopperz230120160037 and the file is "Siaeg.dll".
I have a LOT of adware coming through Google Chrome, and some coming through Firefox (though not AS bad). They will pop up every now and then when I click on most websites The ones that pop up often are Reimage Repair, a bunch of prize giveaways, and sometimes I will even get a text-to-speech PUP saying "Important security message" (which this particular popup is a BASTARD to close unless you prop the task manager!). When I search on Google, I often get these "RocketTab" launcher things displayed on top and bottom of the page. It's worse when I try and order a pizza at Papa John's (I can't even order a pizza), and in my online classes (Mindtap and MyMathLab), popups galore!
I don't have any other viruses on this computer, and AVG detects Siaeg.dll as one. It wants to reboot the laptop (which I did), and once I restarted, NOTHING was removed; I get the same crap. Avast did not detect the file as a virus, which is weird.
I've also attempted at removing the exact file off the Program Files, but it is asking me for the administrator's permission. I was suggested to find the file in the Registry Editor, but no luck whatsoever on that.
People who create viruses need to be hit in the head with a large brick. If any of you folks are eager to help a hand and get rid of this nasty virus in the easiest form, let me know!
Also, PLEASE feel free to tell me some stories about similar viruses you have struggled to deal with in the past.
