This looks like a good group to join up with! Me, I'm just a FOGY retired from hardware engineering and HW/SW Tech writing. I learned to program in BASIC in 1975 at Peoples Computer Company, got my first PC, a TS1000, in 1983. Always remembered Stewart Brand quoting his mentor, Alan Kay, "The computer is a communication device first, second and third." Other than word processing, spreadsheets and graphics programs, that's all I ever wanted out of PCs.
My name comes from a 1965 novel dealing with paranoia(?) in Southern California--the character reminds me of many sleazebags I have known but I always thought the name was cool. I currently live in the Pacific Temperate Rain Forest, in a weird town with too many Millennial immigrants wearing beards and beanies. I have 1 wife, 3 Chihuahuas, 2 cats, a Koi pond and too many guitars.
I always run one generation behind the bleeding edge, thus use an old HP desktop running Win7. Nevertheless, I hope I can get to know some of you and contribute something to this group, even if it's only bad humor.
