The rough details of my C drive are :-

Capacity   315 GB     Free space 278 GB

Total space before shrink  323 GB

Size of available shrink space    85 GB

Now if I have 278 GB of free space  why is the available shrink space limited to 85 GB?

Win 7

Any advice please - thanks.

Thanks for your responses - sorry I'm late with this as I seem not to have checked the 'email response box' so thought there were no replies.

I have defragged and now have 277 GB free space - less!!  Can't recheck the shrink as my Disk Management is not responding at the moment! Did the defrag cause this I wonder?

Ist defrag with iObit. Now with Auslogics defrag I get the same free space of 278GB and same shrink space of 85 GB plus a few MB

The how to geek link is interesting but cannot see my MBR(?) space as I am color blind. I wonder if that defrag display can indicate with numbers in the squares to differentiate? Someone get programming please!
