will a corsair cs550m power supply work with a asrock A785GM-LE motherboard and a Athlon iix2 280 processor and a 24 pin connector

Yes.  Don't forget to check what power each component will draw as a total, against how much power is supplied by the power supply, but unless you have a far-out build 550 Watts should power everything.
