It isn't. Internet Explorer 11 is the default IE version in Windows 10 and therefore cannot be downgraded. Same as Internet Explorer 11 in Windows 8.1.

I was facing the same problem.

The only solution I found was to create a VirtualMachine with old version of Windows in the Windows 10 installation.

It`s working for me I hope will help you as well :)

Why would you want to use Internet Explorer 8? You're basically asking to get exploited.

There are many not updated platforms requesting IE 8.

Good example is UK Rail Road company they are using juniper remote system and this will work only and only with IE 8 :)

Then maybe the UK Rail Road company should stay with Windows 7 or 8.  7 is supported until 2020 and 8 until 2023.

 Good luck.

Make regular full system backups or you'll be sorry sooner or later.

Try the following. In IE press F12 for Developer Mode. Click the Emulation tab and select IE8 for the browser.
