Hi, I tried to burn an iso image to trouble shoot the desk top computer from laptop having windows xp.

I tried nero as well as imgburn.

i could see that both the programs could complete the write process, by allotting suitable buffer and it also ejects after burning.

But on verifying the disc, both programs report verified failed.

nero just says verified failed, imgburn reports, verified failed : layouts do not match.

I think from the look of my drive name, dvd rw, it seems that it is capable of reading and writing. But, when i use the mr fixit from microsoft, it says that the drive could not write, with the message, Install cd dvd writers.

I do not know what it meant? Do i have to install drivers. I do not see any exclamation mark on the cd drive in device manager.

                    Please any one ,

As I interpret it, that message is saying that you are trying to write with an optical drive without that capability.

Please do the following:

1.  Please download MiniToolBox  , save it to your desktop and run it.

Checkmark the following checkboxes:
List last 10 Event Viewer log
  List Installed Programs
List Users, Partitions and Memory size.

Click Go and paste the content into your next post.

2.  Please download and install Speccy to provide us with information about your computer.  Clicking on this link will automatically initiate the download.

When Speccy opens you will see a screen similar to the one below.
