Hi, I'm using a free screen recording software, Icecream Screen Recorder, and it won't record a game I'm playing that is running in fullscreen mode. I chose fullscreen capture and it recorded, but as soon as I start the game, the recording goes black with just the light where the pointer last was. I can hear the audio but no video.

Does anyone know how to do this with Icecream or a different free screen recorder?

Is it an accident or happening every time you run the game? Maybe it is up to your CPU performance then. Recording a large game will take up a lot of energy of CPU. If you are seeking for an alternative tool, you may have a try on ShowMore website then. It offers a recording application and I have used it for many times. By the way, if it cannot work then you may try to record in Windows mode.

Yeah it happens every time I go in full screen mode. I have been able to record in windowed mode but I have to turn the game to the lowest settings for it to to work. I guess what I need is one that will lag the least and export to a video file. I'll give "showmore" a try.
