Ok, so I don't download or watch video much on the internet. I don't generally download at software with an .exe unless it is from a trusted site.  I will occasionally download a huge file, but that is few and far between.  right now I am close to my maximum bandwidth for the month, so I need to do something about it.

1) I just installed a new Router - the reason being I couldn't even access the old one anymore and I needed an update

2) Today I have phoned Cogeco (my provider) and let them know the issue

3) I ALWAYS unplug down my router at night - it is never on from midnight until 7:30am

4) I have new passwords for the router ADMIN and the wireless login

5) I ran both Spybot and Super Anti spyware last night (and do so regularly)

Here is where I think there might be weakness:

1) I am using a Cisco Valet for my wireless - is that maybe insecure?

2) I am connected wireless to my devices (galaxy s3) and my ipad

3) Is there a  virus or backdoor program I can use to see if I am being hacked or have left myself open?

Ok, any suggestions?  And thank you in advance.

This is getting stranger :

I installed Glasswire to see where things are heading - and it seems that as soon as google chrome is used, the bandwidth goes through the roof!  I have been surfing sites like this looking for an answer and I have already eaten through 10mb in 5 minutes!   What is going on?!?!?

Since I got home, I turned on the computer, watch two youtube video and I am not over 100mb used.

I have also turned off pre-fetch in Chrome as well adding "AdBlock" in chrome.  I am not sure if Chrome is the culprit or not in this case, but today, with Glasswire and the programs you told me to download, I will have a better picture of how it looks.  Unfortunately, my provider does not give hour to hour updates and only updates the amount used daily at midnight (or so).  I won't know how well all of this worked out until tomorrow.

I hope the files I uploaded are clean.

Ok just to let you know, the first time I ran AdwCleaner - the only thing that came up with yahoo? something or other.  I had scanned and cleaned that.

The second time, following this post, nothing came up, but the log is included (part 2)

I then ran the notepad and the fixlist, put them in the same folder as FRST and ran the fix.  During the scan, it was NOT RESPONDING during the search of firefox profiles, but eventually completed the log (include part 2)

As for Java, I will try that next, but please see my attachments.  Also, I guess I cannot update java from chrome, huh?  I will try firefox.

Ok I used the software uninstall (from Oracle) all of the old JAVA FILES  and then manually went in and uninstalled all the rest.

No Chrome does it. Use IE or Firefox.

I really do not know.

I suggest you check with the Manufacturer. There should be a forum in which you can ask your questions.
