Long story short: I had installed ACT to manage my customer list on my laptop running XP Home. Had a problem with ACT and uninstalled it. Now when I try to re-install it tells me I must clear a SQL entry entitled "MSSQL$ACT7. Try as I may Ican not delete this enrty because of many different .dll files.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi labs.
From looking around, it appears completely removing ACT from your system can be difficult at times as it binds itself to other programs. A list of those DLL's that prevent you from removing the "MSSQL$ACT7" folder may point to were the binding is.
I found a manual removal procedure for ACT7\2005 but it is long and tedious.
Are there any services or msconfig starup entries still left from the ACT uninstall?
