Hi,

Thank you very much everybody who helps us out on this forum.

A couple of days ago I started noticing slow performance when browsing and also the fan at times blew like crazy with no apparent reason...

Today after rebooting my notebook the Norton AV complained that there is an "unusual amount of outbound traffic" and offered to run some of its "fix"  tools. The tool reported it fixed the problem and ordered to reboot, but during start up the very Norton informed me that it prevented downloading Zlob.Q from some web site like 4u dot org or something like this. Then I also noticed some weird behavior in my browser with "DNS Unlocker" pop ups, slowed down performance and so on. After some googling on the problem I found that DNS setting changed and also found registry entries like this:

Tcpip\Parameters: [DhcpNameServer] 64.59.135.145 64.59.128.121
Tcpip\Parameters: [NameServer] 82.163.142.7 95.211.158.134

so I think I am in troubles and I don't know what to do further ...

Thank you very very much for your help!

Hi Nasdaq,

Thank you very much for your help. Yesterday, before you replied my post, I did install and ran Malwarebytes.  It did help, but not 100%. After rebooting during start up, even before I opened the browser, both Norton and MalwareBytes popped up a windows saying they blocked Zlob.Q trojan.

Today, after I ran ADWCleaner and FarBar with your commands, the problem went away 100%. I rebooted a few times - no alerts from Norton or MalwareBytes, performance is good, no pop ups , nothing. So I think I am good now.

May I ask you one more question - is it a good idea to use both Norton AV and MalwareBytes, or I better stick to either one or another?

Thanks again, I am very grateful!
