I wanted to reinstall Windows on a laptop with no CD DVD. It originally had W8.1 on it. I upgraded to W10 and that was fine.  Then I wanted to put the laptop back to factory spec because it was easier than cleaning the pc manually, Fortunately I did not partition the disk with a USB key. That would have really messed things up. I would have had to stay with Linux until I could install Windows 8.1 WITHOUT a hidden partition or a CDC/DVD. I do have a external DVD USB but I do not know what media W10 is on. Anyways I did have a working Windows so I opened Control Panel and Reset the PC back to factory mode. Maybe UEFI would have bricked the laptop ?  Anyways the restoring took about 2 hours to complete. It was going very slow but gives you a percentage as it progresses. At the rate it was going I thought it would take 12 to 24 hours. I thought it was timing out or the disk or pc was not working. At some point it zipped all the way thru and was done. So I dont think that restore progress indicator is very accurate. It went back to W8.1. All ok.  Then I wanted W10 back so complete the upgrade to W10. All ok.

The only "Duh" I see is how anyone could be confused after reading my first post. Its self explanatory and says its "All ok" twice.  Duh.
