I would like to try several different free utilities (Macrium, Aomei, EaseUS).  Can I have them all installed at once or would their installs conflict with one another?  I am just testing the backup and what the image file looks like - won't be doing any restores at this time.

Sure you can, go for it!  Just keep up with what program does what image.
