What kind of problem are you experiencing with Malwarebytes?

Hi DC3 (among my favorite airplanes, BTW),

I can't get it to scan. It will start but after I press Scan, it gets to
the end of "Pre-Scan Operations" and then throws the error
"Sdkdatabaseloaddefaults failed with code: 1812." This is on two of
three Win7/Ent/SP1/Patched boxes on a small home network/domain and
using the free, latest version of MBAM. I've already tried
uninstalling/reinstalling both with MBAM-Clean and RevoUninst. I've
tried running it in SafeMode, and I've run various other AntiVirus and
AntiMalware programs, all of which came up clean, including MBAM's
Chameleon, which also won't run (although I don't get an error--just a
static Command box).

I've posted on the MBAM Win7 forum but haven't gotten a helpful
response. Also Googling the error doesn't get me a solution, although I
see others with the error.

If you have an issue with Malwarebytes, or any other Malwarebytes products, I suggest you to post directly on their forums.

https://forums.malwarebytes.org/

Right now, the "Sdkdatabaseloaddefaults failed with code: 1812" is a known issue with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. I suggest you to start a new thread on their forum in the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Help section and seek assistance there.

From your thread on Malwarebytes forums, I can see that you are already being assisted there in another thread as well. So like Firefox suggested, I suggest you to stick to it.

My guess is that this thread will be closed soon to avoid confusion since you're already being assisted elsewhere.

Exactly how did you uninstall/reinstall MBAM three times?  I'm guessing other program[s], security or monitoring, is interfering with the MBAM install process.  Are you by any chance running anything similar to Pro-Privacy and/or AntiRansom utilities?  If not properly prepped in advance, such will almost always interfere with many install processes.

I see we posted at the same time   :)

Thanks, RolandJS. I appreciate you're taking time to try to help.

To answer your question about uninstalling/reinstalling: Once using MS's AddRemove, once using MBAM-Clean, and once using RevoUninstall. Not using any of those other products you asked about. I am using Trend Micro, but I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling both with and without TM running and also telling TM to ignore MBAM (which TM doesn't like). I have MBAM running fine on the third PC in my network, so I don't believe TM is the problem.
