We need a little more information.

What happens when you press the power button?

If you get a error message, what exactly does it state?

Does the fan spin up?

Do any LEDs light up?

Is this laptop running off of the power adapter, battery, or both?

Please answer my specific questions.

Have you tried using an external monitor?

I didn't find any results for a Pavilion GD.  Did you mean G6?

If this is the G6 model you need to press the FN key and hold it, then press the F4 key four times, then release the FN key.  You may need to restart the computer with the monitor plugged in for this to take effect.
