After many attempts using other forums help ideas, and installing different versions of Realtek

HD audio drivers from Dell support, etc.. I solved the no sound problem using Dell Realtek R230070.

The biggest problem with Dell Inspiron 530, 530s integrated sound is the Dell drivers are mainly

for Windows XP and Windows Vista. If you upgrade to Windows 7 32 bit O/S as i did.

You will have to manually search for the R230070 Realtek HD Audio Driver that is compatible with Windows 7. As a precaution, use Dell's site for the download, as other freeware sites are unsafe.
