A couple of months ago I started experiencing a major problem with my laptop. (Lenovo Win7 PC.)

I save a lot of images & gifs (mainly from Twitter).

What started to happen was that after I downloaded anything, a minute or two later, Chrome would freeze, & then Windows would freeze entirely, forcing me to restart the computer by manually pressing the power key.

I can upload images/gifs/files without any problem at all. It's only after downloading that this happens.

I can sort of get around this by closing/re-launching Chrome after I download a few things at once.

I've tried absolutely everything I can think of to locate & solve the issue, including running a dozen or so types of system scans, & upgrading to Windows 10, but nothing is helping.

I've scoured all types of forums but I haven't come across anyone else having this exact type of issue.

Any advice would be much appreciated! Thankyou!

Hi. . .

I've never used Chrome; I use IE only. I don't know why Chrome would cause Windows to freeze.

Try Internet Explorer and also Firefox and see if you can successfully save your files using one of them.

Yeah I feel the same. Attempt to use a different browser and see if the issues persist. If they do then you can rule out Chrome specifically.
