I have an Alienware laptop i use it for little things like google searches and to watch the occasional dvd. i mostly watch blue rays on my consoles and i never put dvds in my consoles because it ruins them.  My laptop wouldn't open past the login screen so i took it into a computer repair place that fixes consoles for me and they fixed the problem and gave it back after a few weeks.  So the problem is today i put a DVD in my laptop and nothing happened.  The eject button is gone and when i go to my computer to start the dvd their is no dvd or cd symbol.  under the C drive.  Could the repair place have taken my dvd drive? and how can i know if its not in there without opening it up myself? Any help would be much appreciated Thank you.

Can we request a little more detail please? What model is the laptop?

The eject button is gone

What does that mean - is a physical button no longer there?

Could the repair place have taken my dvd drive?

What did you put the DVD into?

when u put the dvd in did the drive grab it and pull it in or did it just kinda slide into a empty space? is there anything inside where the eject button was to press (the eject button is usually a lever to press a actual button inside the computer

See this video on removing the DVD drive to access the disk. You should have a hole in the drive to eject the disk using a paper clip.

does the dvd drive show up in device manager? that would be the easiest way to verify if there is indeed a dvd drive there (start menu>control panel - search device manager)
