Introduction:

Hello,

First off this site is amazing after looking around a bit online I decided that this is my best chance to find help. I was playing a game called CS:GO through Steam. I have never had this problem before but during it at some point my computer got loud with a blue screen of death. Usually I write down what I see but the Blue Screen was completely torn/shredded looking as if it was something out of a horror movie. The computer started up fine but I know there is probably a larger problem at hand that needs attention. Now that I did a quick intro to the problem from here on the post will follow what the posting instructions are. Also, I tried my best at filling in the information below but some of which I was unable to pull from system diagnostics (pc info/device manager/etc.) I can however open up if absolutely necessary.

Blue Screen of Death Posting Instructions Template:

· OS - Windows 8.1 Pro

· x64
· What was original installed OS on system? Windows 8.1
· Full Retail Purchase
· Age of system (hardware): 2.5 years
· Age of OS installation - have you re-installed the OS?: Reinstalled approximately 3-4 months ago

· CPU: i5-4690K @ 3.50GHz
· Video Card: AMD Radeon 200 series
· MotherBoard - Z97 pro4
· Power Supply - Unsure

· System Manufacturer - ?
· Exact model number (if laptop, check label on bottom): N/A

· Laptop or Desktop? Desktop

*Edit: Forgot to mention the second zip to attach (perfmon) opens up a Resource and Performance monitor window that says "

Error:

An error occured while attempting to generate the report.

The operator or administrator has refused the request.

"

I have ran the CMD as administrator prior.

Start with these free hardware diagnostics:  http://www.carrona.org/hwdiag.html

Start with the video tests (due to the shredded looking screen).

I'll reply more in the morning (UTC-5, east coast of the US)

The memory dump is suggestive of a video problem (DirectX is involved).  Please update your video drivers - if they're the most updated, then uninstall them and install a freshly downloaded copy.

Your UEFI/BIOS (version P1.30) dates from 2014.  Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any UEFI/BIOS updates available for your system.  If you are able to install the update through Windows (without booting from an external drive), then go ahead and update it.  WARNING - if the computer might shut down during this procedure, please don't do it, as this may physically damage the computer and prevent it from booting.

Only 182 Windows Update hotfixes installed.  Most systems have more than this.  Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).
Don't worry about the specific number, it's just important that you have checked and installed any updates that were available (and didn't experience any errors).

Please uninstall XFastLAN (and XFastUSB if installed).  These programs have previously seen to cause BSOD's on some systems.

If all of this doesn't stop the BSOD's, please run Driver Verifier according to these instructions:  http://www.carrona.org/verifier.html
