Hi im having trouble connecting my new 980 - currently i have a 960 which connects to the psu unit with a 6 pin connector but the new 980 requires two 8 pin like this: http://imgur.com/NiN68mr

my psu has a cable with two 8 pin connectors coming from it but one is used for the motherboard ASUS Z170 Pro Gaming --Psu is a thermaltake toughpower xt 775w http://imgur.com/7EaY1Hu

is it possible to add another 8 pin to 8 pin into this? and what is that cord called? sorry new to this - or do i need to get another psu thanks for any help

Would be easier to fork out for a new one, and seeing you will be moving up as time progresses moving up to a 1000w may not be a bad idea.

I have a TechNPS 1000w Model: HPC-1000-G14C, and its 6 yrs old all my ports are 8 pin and I could not be happier, its a sturdy and reliable PSU in my experience. PeAcE
