Since MalwareBytes has made the Quick Scan a premium feature, it is no longer a tool of first choice for me for new infections. When I'm trying to help a family member or friend with a malware problem, I can't wait two to three hours for MalwareBytes to run. I realize they made it a premium feature to annoy us into paying, but that move has the opposite effect. Several people have upgraded on my recommendation, but now I'm searching for its successor. ADWcleaner is a great solution, but I don't know if it is a full replacement for a MalwareBytes Quick Scan.

The QUICK SCAN was renamed to THREAT SCAN and is available in all versions.

Malwarebytes offers three types of scans.
  • A THREAT SCAN (formerly QUICK SCAN) looks at the most prevalent places for active malware so scanning every single file on the drive isn't always necessary. This is the recommended scanning mode.
  • A CUSTOM SCAN (formerly FULL SCAN) allows you to customize where and what folders and files you want to scan including any external (removable) drives. If you choose to check the entire C:\drive (all files/folders) it will perform similarly to a FULL SCAN.
  • A HYPER SCAN (formerly FLASH SCAN) is a faster scan that will search for immediate threats that are currently active on your computer. If anything is found, a THREAT SCAN is recommended afterward. Hyper scans are only available for Malwarebytes Trial or Premium users
Note: If you are a Premium user (or using the Trial offer), there is a Scan Scheduler link at the bottom right corner allowing you to configure a scheduled scan.

To answer your topic title question...I would say Emsisoft Emergency Kit or Zemana AntiMalware.
