Hi everyone-

Noticed it was a little slow

Moms has Bitdefender security 2015, Win 10.....

Did find some Malware, so scanned and Cleaned a few things with Adwcleaner, Ccleaner, MBAM, and JRT but haven't done ESET yet, (can post results below or re do as neeeded)

Have until Saturday I think, appreciate any help-  mostly to make sure all the Apps she has are genuine/dig signed and the malware's gone  :)

If not in time, and someone knows how I could set up remote assist only from her to my home computer when I get there, thatd be great and also works,

Thank you!!!!!

p22002970.gif Please download Rkill (courtesy of BleepingComputer.com) to your desktop.
There are 2 different versions. If one of them won't run then download and try to run the other one.
You only need to get one of these to run, not all of them. You may get warnings from your antivirus about this tool, ignore them or shutdown your antivirus.

rKill.exe: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/rkill/dl/10/
iExplore.exe (renamed rKill.exe): http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/rkill/dl/11/

  • Double-click on the Rkill desktop icon to run the tool.
  • If using Windows Vista, 7 or 8 right-click on it and choose Run As Administrator.
  • A black DOS box will briefly flash and then disappear. This is normal and indicates the tool ran successfully.
  • If not, delete the file, then download and use the one provided in Link 2.
  • Do not reboot until instructed.
  • If the tool does not run from any of the links provided, please let me know.

If normal mode still doesn't work, run the tool from safe mode.

When the scan is done Notepad will open with rKill log.
Post it in your next reply.

NOTE. rKill.txt log will also be present on your desktop.

NOTE Do NOT wrap your logs in "quote" or "code" brackets.
Do NOT use spoilers.
Do NOT edit your reply to post additional logs. Create new reply. I'll not get any email notifications about edits so I won't know you posted something new.

Hello there

Sorry I didn't respond sooner (have been traveling)

Thanks very much for the response!

Is there any way I can do these things remotely with my Mom's computer from here, by having her enable "allow remote connections" I do not yet know how to set up/ create a remote assistance connection existing only between her home PC to mine

I can either research how to do it myself, or if you already know how, I can follow instruction competently enough.. lastly perhaps you may know of a credible tutorial link on Bleeping Comp (for some reason I didn't see it) or another similar site I am open to suggestion

If not that option,  I can try and walk her through it over the phone- download the programs myself and email them to her, and then read her the instructions step by step and have her email me the logs so i can post them. This would take considerably...  longer.. hehe.. knowing my moms (love you mom:)  but I definitely can if needed no prob

I would be able to do/begin these things on Friday, thanks again!

PS

would you feel okay if I did a test run of your instructions on my PC? Barring a remote connection with Mom I would download and email them anyway and i like to familiarize myself wit new programs/cleaning methods. Just have win 7 on laptop, bitdefender, ccleaner, have hdmi to a tv. it seems fine but since my roomie used my computer while I was away, I don't see the harm in checking it out if you're ok with the test run idea to kill some time (I'll call my Mom tomorrow and ask when her next day off would be this week) and make the real run faster. Okey dokey thank you

:)

Probably phone/email would be the best option.

Surely you can run all those tools on your machine.
