Same thing.   I wish I could find out what's going on here also.  W10/ T61.   It's annoying and I believe that I could probably uninstall a program and solve the problem.   Is this really a problem that requires perusing dumps and error reports?  There's no BSOD or anything just a UAC annoyance.

This topic is from Nov/Dec of last year.  Please, if you'd like to receive help, post your own topic so that we can give it the individual attention that it deserves

 

I really don't have the time to ask you for reports that I won't use or won't look at.  I ask for the reports that I need.  You decide if you're going to provide them or not.

 

Have you tried:

- downloading a fresh copy of the Synaptic software

- then uninstall the current Synaptic software

- then install the freshly downloaded Synaptic software and monitor for further problems?

Of course, that makes sense that you would not ask for stuff you don't need, sorry to put it that way. 

 

 I started to look into reinstalling the software but it's part of something else and not sure which of the Lenovo pointing device utilities it belongs to.  So I thought I'd look for simpler solutions before I go yanking the drivers.

I'll try to sort that out next, thanks.
