I have two PCs with Windows 10 ("NY1" and "NY2") and a HP printer on a wireless network. When I start PC "NY1" and switch on the printer it picks up the printer as "NY2\printer" as if the printer belongs to "NY2". I have checked in the router and there is no info indicating it should have anything to do with PC "NY2". Two months ago I had just one fo the PCs, "NY2", and the printer was connected to it with a cable. I have had problems scanning from "NY1" whereas it works great on "NY2" so I'm no suspecting the problem could have something to do with this. Any ideas what this is all about?

Most likely the NY2\printer is the path for the printer when it was connected to the NY2 system with a cable.

If that's the case, there should be another printer on the network that is the one that you should be using.

Worst case, uninstall all printer stuff from both systems (to include removing the printer from Control Panel...Devices and Printers)

Then reinstall the printer in the way that you want it setup.

If that doesn't help, then post over in the Networking forums for assistance from the experts there:    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/f/21/networking/
