I will admit to being a complete novice in regards to networking.
I have had a network setup and in use for several years now. I have a DSL connection going into a SpeedStream router (SS2624) which is split between several computers (One wireless laptop and two wired desktops). My brother recently got a computer and due to his location in the house it would have been very difficult to try to run cable to him. Also, since his room was so far away from the router his wireless signal was terrible. As a solution, my parents bought a wireless repeater (a Linksys WRE54G ver. 2) I have had nothing but issues with it. I attempted to use the auto configure feature. My laptop was able to detect and connect to it's signal but I couldnt connect to the internet. Also, using Toshiba's ConfigFree program I was able to see that both my router and repeater were on the same network. But since the repeater's signal was stronger my laptop would automatically connect to it. I don't know what I should do now, I've also tried the included CD with no success.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
