Hi Guys,

I recently recovered my old Dell Studio 17" laptop that i bought in 07/08. It has never been under much pressure and recently underwent a complete clean up(only 4 programs in add/remove programs). At the weekend i put Windows 10 on it and it actually seems to run very well but what I was wondering was, is there any way/program/software available for me to update everything like the drivers etc. Also, is it hard to add to the laptop i.e. SSD? Graphics Card? Anything else really.

Thanks!!

Thanks for the response, unfortunately I have not got the laptop right but I know it is Dell Studio 1737, 4GB Ram, Windows 10 64 Bit, 1440 x 900, 500GB HDD, 2.1GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T6500 processor, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 4500MHD. Like i said also it was completely wiped and Windows 7 was put on over vista and it is very bare. I can imagine I am missing quite a bit.

The following is from Dell Product Support regarding the Dell Studio 1737.

Product not tested for Windows 10 upgrade
Dell is not testing or developing Windows 10 drivers for this product. If you choose to upgrade, some features, applications, and connected devices may not work as expected.

Ah okay so, in your own experience would you have any recommendations for improving it?

The only suggestion I could make would be to see if there are drivers for Windows 8.1 and hope that they will work with Windows 10.

Craig, If Windows 7 is working well on it, why not keep Windows 7?  And, is the screen a touch-screen?  If not, you're going to miss out on the touch-fun.
