I have a Dell 2350 desktop with XP home, service pack 1, not presently used for internet. Runs perfect and seems malware-free.

Are these files hidden? I can't seem to find them; I thought they were required for the start menu to operate properly?

SMTMP should not to be at all in computer, but %TEMP%, you'll find if to open RUN and then type in box %TEMP% or %Temp% and press OK or Enter.
