I've been in the computer biz, in one way or the other, since 1981 but am no gadget freak or fanboy of any specific technology or manufacturer (although I decidedly dislike some).
Started out punching FORTRAN onto cards for submission to the I/O Gods, but I expect to many on this board this makes no sense at all; but that's OK as 30 years from now .jar files will likely seem just as quaint. Perhaps by then the notion of online personal privacy will be back in vogue.
Now that my job is far more managerial than technical, I use this site from time-to-time to research problems and seeming incompatibilities (and fixes/workarounds to various annoyances).
I was prompted to join (and make a donation) by the lawsuit filed against Bleeping Computer. I greatly dislike using the courts to try to censor free speech, or make it too costly for sites such as this one to fight more deeply-pocketed crooks and/or trolls.
