So even I have done a clean install of Windows 7 just yesterday and still have no installed programs except for 'VLC Player' and 'Chrome'. But it still overheats and shuts down. What do I do?

Blow the vents out with canned air.

DO NOT use an air compressor or a vacuum - they can damage the system!

Also, try using a laptop cooling pad and use the laptop on a hard surface.

Do not let anything obstruct the vents on the bottom, sides or back of the laptop.

If it continues to overheat, it'll have to be opened up and the cooling system will have to be checked out.
