After removing some viruses and reinstalling windows, my computer has had jumping cpu usage from 2-30 percent, and high physical memory use under performance tab in task manager.

I never had this problem before, and my processes in task manager don't take up a lot of memory, could this be from some kind of virus or a hardware problem... wasn't sure where to post.

How did you reinstall Windows? You might have gotten infected already- could you provide some more details about your system and what you did? I'm not as expert as some folks on here but I'm sure somebody will help you

I formatted my computer in dos and installed it through the cd.

I have 4 gb memory, and a decent cpu, never had problems before... no graphics card (motherboard has graphics capabilities).

I would suspect a deeper issue and we will need a deeper look.

Please follow this Preparation Guide and post in a new topic.
