Computer has not been working good for several weeks. It keeps shutting down and giving me a blue screen of death. Some days it will happen within minutes of logging in other times it won't happen for several hours or if I am lucky a day or two.  Right now I am logged under safe mode because it has been happening so much. Would appreciate some help with this issue. Thanks!!

Only 271 Windows Update hotfixes installed.  Most systems with SP1 have 400 or more.  Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).

These devices have problems in Device Manager:

WD SES Device USB Device    USBSTOR\OTHER&VEN_WD&PROD_SES_DEVICE&REV_1012\575837314134344538373833&1    The drivers for this device are not installed.
Base System Device    PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0592&SUBSYS_028A1028&REV_12\4&B4D00C5&0&32F0    The drivers for this device are not installed.
PCI Simple Communications Controller    PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2E24&SUBSYS_028A1028&REV_03\3&11583659&0&18    The drivers for this device are not installed.

The first device is from your Western Digital software.  Please uninstall it and check to see that the problem is removed after a reboot.

The 2nd device is your card reader (most likely from Ricoh).  Download and install the latest version from the Dell website.

The 3rd device is most likely your Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) driver.  Please download and install the latest version from the Dell website.

I'm late for work and the memory dumps aren't finished yet.

Please follow these troubleshooting suggestions:  http://www.sysnative.com/forums/bsod-kernel-dump-analysis-debugging-information/35-video-tdr-timeout-0x116-0x117.html#post29532
Also, please monitor your temps with this free utility:  http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html

I'll post back this afternoon (UTC-5, East coast of the US), or in the early morning tomorrow with more details.

My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.

Thank you for your help.. It is greatly appreciated.

How do I go about getting the Windows updates when computer isn't working very long in regular mode. Safe mode with Networking, I am able to stay on longer but found I can not run the windows updater from Safe Mode.

You had stated "The first device is from your Western Digital software.  Please uninstall it and check to see that the problem is removed after a reboot." To uninstall it do you mean go into uninstall programs and uninstall WD my cloud?

You had stated "The 2nd device is your card reader (most likely from Ricoh).  Download and install the latest version from the Dell website.

The 3rd device is most likely your Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) driver.  Please download and install the latest version from the Dell website."

How do I go about doing this? Where do I find the latest version of these drivers on Dell website?

Thanks again for your help!

How to go about getting Windows Updates is a problem.  Get a few at a time and just keep it up.  You won't know what it was that caused this until you fix it.

As for the Western Digital software, when installing there was a special driver installed that is a known BSOD problem for some Windows systems.

Yet, for some reason, there's now a problem with it in Device Manager.

So, for now, uninstall the Western Digital software from Control Panel...Programs and Features.

This is only temporary, and will hopefully fix the problem.

FYI - I have 2 WD MyCloud devices and don't have that driver installed and the MyCloud devices work well without it.

Go to the Dell support website ( http://support.dell.com ) and enter your Service Code/Tag in the appropriate box

That'll take you to the page with drivers for your system.  It should auto-detect your operating system.
Then go through the listing and look for the Memory Card Reader and the Intel Management Engine.
Download and install them.  If there aren't drivers available for this model, then you'll have to look elsewhere for the drivers (start with Windows/Microsoft Update).

If this was an upgrade from Windows Vista, there may be problems with the drivers.

As such, it may take a while to locate the proper 64 bit drivers for W7.

The error codes imply a hardware problem (can't find the device).

Please run these free hardware diagnostics:  http:/www.carrona.org/hwdiag.html
You'll see that some of them are the same as the stuff in the links for the STOP 0x116 errors - there's no need to duplicate the tests, just run them once

So installing the windows updates is what I need to do first?  It shows there is 75 non crucial updates available?  Should I download and install them all?

I went to Dell and for some reason after downloading the auto detect it is not working.

The system did originally come with Windows Vista on it and I did an upgrade to Windows 7 professional

Are you wanting me to run all the following diagnostics?

Get all the optional updates.  You can skip the Skype and W10 if you'd like, but get the rest.

As for the updates to the card reader and the Intel Management Engine:

- try this for the Intel Management Engine:  http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds034886

- try this for the Card Reader driver:  http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds014960

Sorry, I forgot a / in the link for the hardware diagnostics.

Here's the actual link:  http://www.carrona.org/hwdiag.html

The other links are only useful for researching drivers - not for diagnostics.
Please disregard them.
