Hi,

Sometime ago I've give my laptop a factory reset, but now it's giving a different name, how can I change that?

It's possible to change the userprofile folder name, but it's quite the tedious task and you can end up corrupting/damaging your profile beyond repair so I wouldn't risk it if I were you.

There's a full tutorial on how to go about it on SevenForums.

When you do a Factory Reset, a Windows image stored on your computer/laptop (on a separate drive usually) is restored. When means that if at the time of the image, the main userprofile had that name, it's normal that it appears as the main userprofile right now.

A Factory Reset isn't a clean install. Which one did you do?

How did you go about reinstalling Windows? Can you describe what you did?

Then once you were on Windows 10, what did you do to "reset" it?

This is done using the method I described here:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/605795/factory-reset-name-change/#entry3938530

It's a Reset, not a clean install.
