Hello,

About two months ago I swapped out my old motherboard, RAM, and CPU and have since been having issues with freezing. Only after playing a game for some time (~30 minutes in, sometimes more, sometimes less), the entire screen will freeze and a loud static sound will accompany it and it must be restarted in order to get it working again.

I have intermediate knowledge of building and repairing computers, but have had trouble locating the source of the problem here. Any help would be great. Thanks!

Some specs:

ASUS X-99A motherboard

Noctua dual tower CPU cooler

Intel i7 CPU

Geforce GTX 980 GPU

2 8GB sticks of DDR4 RAM

650 watt power supply

Aside from the errors with 3DMark, it doesn't appear that Windows has any pertinent info to contribute to any explanation for your problems.

LGA2011-3 socket pins bend easilly. Check that all pins are OK.

Pins look good, too. Any other ideas?

Well, something is probably broken. Motherboard and PSU are usually first suspects, but very hard to tell which part is broken. Easy try is to switch SATA cables. Poor quality SATA cables can cause strange lockups.
