I am running Windows 10 on my Acer Aspire Laptop. Today I could not find my control panel at all. When I right click on the start menu where it says control panel, I seem to get  a flash and the control panel does not open. I really want it back. Can anyone help me with this problem?

Can you search for run in the "search windows" input and then run "control panel"?

I have repeatedly searched for the control panel today. It was there yesterday. I still see the words on the black dialogue box when I right click on the start button. But no control panel box shows up.

What if you press the Windows key + R to open a Run box, and type control (followed by Enter)?

No that does nothing. The control panel is just no longer on this computer. I have windows 10 settings but that familiar box with all the settings has disappeared. When I did as you asked I get  a flash and then back to the desktop.

That does not help at all. I am talking about the old Control Panel like I had in Windows 10 not the new settings. It is just gone and I can't retrieve it. I still see the words on the power menu but I just get a flash and then back to the desktop.

After working on this the entire day, I just right clicked the unworking icon for the control panel and lo and behold my cp opened. It is now pinned to my taskbar and all is well. Thanks for helping me with your replies. I really do appreciate it.

Just for future reference, in my copy of W10:

Control.exe opens Control Panel.

It's located in the C:\Windows\System32 directory
